ROBERT N. PARKER CPA, ABV, CFM
Since the early 1980's, Robert Parker has provided companies with the business and financial expertise to help them make more effective business decisions and to achieve their business goals. Serving as President of Parker Business Consulting & Accounting, PC, a CPA firm that specializes in business and financial consulting, Mr. Parker has helped numerous professional, service, construction, high-tech, and family businesses grow, increase the value of their enterprise, understand the business implications of their decisions, and become more effective in their operations. His valuation skills have also been used to effect strategic mergers and/or acquisitions, management/ownership transitions, as well as, for estate purposes.
Mr. Parker (Bob) spent fifteen years in the corporate world prior to starting his own firm. He has served in numerous positions to include Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer for one of Knoxville's largest companies, Division Controller and General Manager for a Fortune 150 company, along with other positions in operations, as well as, cost accounting and financial analysis. Prior to his business career, Mr. Parker (Bob) attained the rank of captain and served with the U.S. Army Rangers as part of the Joint Special Operations Command.
Mr. Parker (Bob) is a Certified Public Accountant, Accredited in Business Valuations, Certified Management Accountant and is Certified in Financial Management. He received his B.S. Degree in Industrial Technology and Masters in Business Administration from Tennessee Technological University. While in his MBA program, he received national recognition for research conducted for a major corporation on inventory reduction and improved process flow.
Mr. Parker (Bob) has completed numerous professional development programs, inlcuding the Leadership Development Program at the Hartford Graduate Center's Center for Creative Leadership and the Strategic Planning Program at Indiana University.
In addition to his business, Mr. Parker (Bob) has served on the board or as treasurer for several community organizations. He has served as president of the Farragut Rotary Club and as a deacon in his church. He is a member of several professional organizations to include AICPA, TSCPA, the Institute of Management Accountants, and the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts.
Mr. Parker (Bob) is married and lives in Knoxville, TN. His wife, Lynne, is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Tennessee. He also enjoys reading, hiking, and running.
JoANN GOODRICH
Jo Ann Goodrich began her career in public accounting with Coopers & Lybrand, one of the “Big 8” firms. It is now part of PriceWaterhouseCoopers, the world’s largest professional services firm, and the fourth largest privately held organization in the US.
Following Coopers, Ms. Goodrich worked in progressively responsible positions at Bike Athletic Company, beginning first as the inventory accountant, then as an internal auditor and later, with a well-deserved reputation for troubleshooting and problem-solving, became Controller of Bike’s sister company W. Lamar Young & Associates. While there, she developed effective systems for accurately tracking sales and related commissions over the wide variety of sales categories, structures and distribution paths throughout the country.
During the company’s acquisition by Russell Athletic, she served as liaison with the outside auditors, resolving any problems or questions so that the process could proceed smoothly and successfully.
As a tax and manufacturing specialist, Ms. Goodrich guides clients at Parker Business Consulting & Accounting into solutions that work not only in theory, but in the “real world” to facilitate better decision-making, based on more accurate and easily obtainable information. Her attention to detail along with exceptional analytic and investigative abilities enable her to develop custom systems and solutions for each company she works with.
Ms. Goodrich holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Tennessee. She has been married for 23 years to Zane; they have two children, Amy, who is in her senior year at the University of Tennessee, and Ryne, who is a senior at Bearden High School. They are active members Central Baptist Church of Bearden, where Mrs. Goodrich teaches Sunday School and serves on various committees. She also serves as treasurer for the Bearden High School Football Booster Club, her neighborhood association, and Rocky Hill Girls Softball Association, and is an avid tennis player.
RUBY K. PAGE CPA, MBA
Ms. Page has over 25 years of financial and accounting experience. She received her undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of Cincinnati and her Masters in Business Administration from Northern Kentucky University.
From 1991 to 2007 Ruby owned and operated her own CPA practice in Cincinnati, Ohio. She provided management services, financial statement and tax return preparation, payroll functions, securities and investment tracking and personnel training to closely held companies. These clients were composed of S-Corporations, C-Corporations, Trusts, Partnerships and Sole-Proprietorships.
For 7 years prior to founding her own practice, she was the Financial Controller for a National Airline based out of Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1996, Ruby was instrumental in the company’s Initial Public Offering and the subsequent sale of warrants.
She is a member of both Ohio and Tennessee CPA Societies, the AICPA and BNI of Knoxville. Ruby and her husband Steve moved to Tennessee in 2004 to fish the beautiful lakes and rivers. They settled in Clinton, Tennessee on the Clinch River. They currently host “Pancakes N Prayers” every Sunday morning at their “Home Church”.
